I am pleased to share our 2025 Impact Report<\/a>, which highlights the accomplishments your contribution helped make possible. This year\u2019s report marks 25 years of Forest Trends’ progress and partnership. From major breakthroughs in policy to powerful (and unusual) coalitions, this milestone year has shown what is possible when we persistently and collaboratively rally around protecting nature.<\/p>\n

Inside our report, you\u2019ll find stories of impact from the field, insights into our vision for the future, and even a few favorite recipes shared by our chef partners across the globe, demonstrating the connection between biodiversity and culinary delights.<\/p>\n

Earlier this month, the COP30 climate negotiations in Bel\u00e9m, Brazil shone a spotlight on the essential role of Indigenous leadership. The Indigenous Village COP (or, ALDEIA COP)\u2014the first gathering of its kind in 30 years of climate talks\u2014brought together thousands of Indigenous leaders from Brazil and around the world to share knowledge, guide discussions, and highlight powerful community-led solutions for forests and the climate.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n\n\n\n

We also released the State of Climate and Conservation Finance for Indigenous Peoples and Local Communities<\/a><\/em>\u00a0report, our most comprehensive look yet at how funding is (and isn\u2019t) reaching the communities who are most critical to protecting nature. The report highlights real progress and inspiring examples of leadership on the ground, but it also points out a huge gap for\u00a0a more meaningful reform that puts these stewards at the center of our global effort to conserve forests and critical ecosystems.<\/p>\n

This past year, we\u2019ve seen encouraging momentum in the global shift toward nature-based solutions as well. Our Doubling Down on Nature<\/em><\/a> report found that investment in nature-based solutions for water security has more than doubled over the last decade, now surpassing $49 billion annually worldwide. And our State of the Voluntary Carbon Market 2025<\/em><\/a> report reflects a market evolving toward greater quality, integrity, and positive impact.<\/p>\n

This work is not just about analysis\u2014it\u2019s about partnership<\/strong><\/em>. This year, we launched a historic collaboration<\/a> with Brazil\u2019s Ministry of Indigenous Peoples and GreenData to support territorial governance and climate finance. We\u2019ve begun a series of workshops with Indigenous leaders across Brazil\u2019s diverse biomes, including our first gathering in Bras\u00edlia this fall. Brazil is showing its leadership, as this is the first global effort\u00a0to truly and systemically engage Indigenous leaders and support their vision.<\/p>\n

The years ahead are going to continue to require growing\u00a0effort and leadership from all of us\u00a0to successfully tackle our global climate challenges. Forest Trends will not rest in our mission to stand up for forests, for our partners (and especially the Indigenous and local communities so often caught on the front lines), and for a healthy planet for future generations. Shared Meals, Shared Meaning<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

In 2015, we launched Cumari, a \u201cRainforest to Table\u201d movement that\u00a0connected chefs and restaurants with small-scale producers of unique rainforest ingredients, helping to inspire new markets that celebrate biodiversity and cultural heritage across the Amazon region.<\/span><\/p>\n

In that same spirit, our 2025 Impact Repo<\/a>rt shares a collection of recipes from our staff and chef partners\u2014dishes that reflect the roots, relationships, and creativity that define Forest Trends. Each recipe is a small reminder that what nourishes us, personally and professionally, is often the same: connection, care, and the joy of sharing something meaningful.<\/p>\n
